The China Federation of Logistics & Purchasing (CFLP) recently announced its third batch of star-rated digital warehouses, with three Yuhu Cold Chain facilities awarded Five-Star Digital Warehouse status: cold stores D1–D10 at Yuhu Cold Chain (Chengdu) Trading Centre, cold store D1 at Yuhu Cold Chain (Jieyang) Trading Centre, and cold stores D01 and D02 at Yuhu Cold Chain (Xiangyang) Trading Centre. All five of Yuhu Cold Chain's smart trading centres now in trial operation have earned the national Five-Star Digital Warehouse rating, extending the company's digital warehousing capabilities across its network in South, Southwest and Central China.
Digital Upgrade: The Path to Higher Value in Cold Chain Warehousing
Warehousing sits at the heart of every supply chain. According to the China Digital Warehousing Development Report (2024), published by CFLP, China's warehousing market grew from RMB 88.29 billion (approximately USD 13.2 billion) in 2019 to RMB 153.35 billion (approximately USD 23.0 billion) in 2023 — a compound annual growth rate of 14.8%. As the market expands and new models such as on-demand delivery take off, businesses across the supply chain increasingly need warehousing that responds fast and offers full visibility and control. Digital warehouses, built on automated equipment and smart systems, are becoming the main way to meet that need. The simultaneous Five-Star rating of three Yuhu Cold Chain parks is a clear response to this trend.

Yuhu Cold Chain (Chengdu) Trading Centre: A “Mega Fridge” for Southwest China
Located in Qingbaijiang District, Chengdu, the Chengdu Trading Centre is a Sichuan Provincial Key Project and a core part of a National Backbone Cold Chain Logistics Base. With a cold storage capacity of 281,000 metric tons, the park covers the full temperature range from 18°C to -60°C, with temperature control accurate to within ±2°C. Handling nearly 3,000 metric tons of imported fresh food a day, it has built an efficient distribution network that delivers within 12 hours across Sichuan and Chongqing and within 24 hours across Southwest China.
On the green front, the park has installed nearly 22,000 PV panels on the roofs of its 10 freezer buildings, with a total installed capacity of 13.1 MW and annual generation of over 10 million kWh. Within a month of switching on, the park's electricity bill fell 14% month-on-month. The system cuts carbon emissions by 7,500–11,500 metric tons a year, making the park one of the first large-scale commercial and industrial PV projects in China's cold chain sector.

Yuhu Cold Chain (Jieyang) Trading Centre: A Smart Hub for Agricultural Distribution in Eastern Guangdong
The Jieyang Trading Centre is Yuhu Cold Chain's second project in Guangdong Province. It combines fresh agricultural produce distribution, international cold chain food trading, Chaoshan food culture experiences, cold chain food processing, and smart warehousing and logistics. Since its vegetable zone opened for trial operation in May 2025 with 100% occupancy, followed by the aquatic products trading zone in January 2026, this provincial and municipal key project has become a major agricultural trading and distribution hub for eastern Guangdong.
The newly rated D1 cold store has a capacity of around 15,000 metric tons, with multiple temperature zones for frozen and chilled storage. Backed by an OTWB warehousing and logistics management system and a professional operations team, the park keeps goods under unbroken temperature control from start to finish, with fully traceable data — minimising food loss and safeguarding product quality.

Yuhu Cold Chain (Xiangyang) Trading Centre: A New Smart Cold Chain Landmark in Northwest Hubei
A key industrial project at both the Hubei provincial and Xiangyang municipal levels, the Xiangyang Trading Centre features a cluster of high-standard smart cold stores with a capacity of 100,000 metric tons, covering multiple temperature zones from -25°C to ambient. Built to China's First-Grade Green Warehouse standard, the park runs a smart warehousing system that manages every stage of goods handling. Energy-saving technologies cut energy consumption by over 20% compared with conventional cold stores.

Standards-Led: Chinese Solutions for the Global Cold Chain
From October 2025, when the Guangzhou park became South China's first Five-Star Digital Warehouse, to February 2026, when the Wuhan park was named in the second batch, and now the selection of the Chengdu, Jieyang and Xiangyang parks in the third batch, every Yuhu Cold Chain park in trial operation now holds Five-Star Digital Warehouse certification.
By localising international standards and applying them across its parks nationwide, Yuhu Cold Chain has turned its digital warehousing capabilities into replicable operating protocols:
- the Yuhu Code enables end-to-end traceability;
- a smart dispatch platform optimises vehicle–cargo matching; and
- automated high-bay warehouses keep operations running efficiently around the clock.
To date, all of Yuhu Cold Chain's trading centres under construction and in trial operation hold First-Grade (Three-Star) Green Warehouse certification — China's highest national green warehouse rating — and each park has received the Hong Kong Green and Sustainable Contribution Awards. The company's twin drivers of green and digital transformation continue to earn industry recognition.

From scale expansion to digital empowerment, Yuhu Cold Chain is using its Five-Star Digital Warehouses as a springboard to turn cold chain warehousing from traditional storage centres into smart hubs — bringing Chinese solutions to the high-quality development of the global cold chain industry.
