The 35th Food Expo, hosted by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), recently took place in grand fashion at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. As one of Asia’s largest professional food exhibitions, this year’s event brought together hundreds of suppliers to present premium products from around the globe. The China National Agricultural Pavilion, organized by the Agricultural Trade Promotion Center of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, featured nearly a thousand agri-food products from 13 provinces across mainland China. Meanwhile, the concurrent Trade Hall provided a one-stop platform for the food and restaurant industries, helping businesses expand internationally and build strong networks for collaboration.

During the Expo, the Guangdong Specialty Products Showcase and the inaugural Guangdong Premium Products Expo Investment Roadshow were successfully held in Hong Kong on August 15, 2025. Organized by the Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province and coordinated by its Hong Kong Economic and Trade Representative Office together with the Guangdong General Chamber of Commerce, the event aimed to bring Guangdong’s specialty foods to a global audience, support more local brands as they expand overseas, and attract international resources to Guangdong’s modern agriculture and food sectors.
A representative from the Department of Commerce’s Hong Kong office highlighted Guangdong’s unique strengths as a pioneer of reform and opening-up, with particular emphasis on Lingnan specialty agricultural products and leading regional brands. The representative also underscored Hong Kong’s vital role as a free port and international trade hub, noting that cooperation within the Greater Bay Area is helping “Guangdong Premium” brands gain global recognition.
Yuhu Group was among the invited Hong Kong companies participating in the event. Ms. Huang Zhenghong, Executive Director of Hong Kong Yuhu Group, shared insights into the Group’s expertise in food supply chain management, cold chain logistics, and international trade services, as well as recent achievements in bringing high-quality ingredients from mainland China to global markets. She noted that the Yuhu Cold Chain Trading Center now operates nine major parks across China, forming the country’s largest cold chain project cluster and establishing a nationwide food supply network. At the same time, the Group’s Jade Premium connects buyers and sellers through a streamlined platform, helping businesses across the supply chain quickly match their products with market demand. Ms. Huang also introduced the “HKQAA Hong Kong Registration—Food Supply to Hong Kong Scheme,” a collaborative initiative with the Hong Kong Quality Assurance Agency (HKQAA). This program offers one-stop certification guidance and support, streamlining export procedures for products bound for Hong Kong, enhancing brand value and negotiating power, and paving the way for more mainland ingredients to reach overseas markets.

Many enterprises expressed keen interest in the “Hong Kong Registration—Food Supply to Hong Kong Scheme.” As a leading operator in the cold chain food supply sector and a key player in international trade services, Yuhu Group will continue to leverage its robust supply chain capabilities and global network, working alongside partners to accelerate the overseas expansion of high-quality Chinese ingredients and unlock new opportunities in the international market.
