Government and Enterprises Join Forces to Create Opportunities: Yuhu Cold Chain Empowers Agricultural Exports to Secure a Leading Global Supply Chain Position
2025.09.06
玉湖集團

Against the backdrop of profound restructuring in global supply chains and China’s policy drive toward high-quality agricultural development, the “going global” initiative for Chinese agricultural products is entering a critical transitional phase, shifting from pure scale expansion to quality-driven breakthroughs. In this process, the government is taking a leading role in policy support and resource integration, while also engaging platform enterprises with strong resources and capabilities to jointly build platforms and facilitate trade. Initiatives such as training programs and matchmaking events designed to boost the import and export of agricultural products are being steadily implemented. As an innovative supply chain leader, Yuhu Cold Chain is actively providing multi-dimensional support to the government, deeply facilitating the international distribution of high-quality domestic agricultural products. By helping overcome trade barriers and strengthen market access, Yuhu is positioning these products to compete strategically in the global food supply chain.

Government and Enterprises Create Opportunities to Precisely Address “Pain Points” in Global Expansion

Guangzhou Training Seminar on Import-Export Trade and Supply-to-Hong-Kong Operations for Agricultural Products was successfully held on September 5 at the Yuhu Cold Chain (Guangzhou) Trading Centre. The event was organized by the Bureau of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of Guangzhou Municipality and co-hosted by the Guangzhou Agricultural Leading Enterprises Association and Yuhu Cold Chain, aiming to provide timely support for local agribusinesses.

Senior officials from various departments of the Bureau, including Rural Industries, Exchange and Cooperation, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary and Slaughter Management, Marine Law Enforcement Squad, Seed Management, and Crop Farming, attended the session. Also present were Zou Yanping, Executive Vice Secretary-General of the Guangzhou Agricultural Leading Enterprises Association, along with numerous representatives from agricultural enterprises.

The event began with an open tour of Yuhu Cold Chain’s core operational facilities. Participants visited the trading hall, logistics zone, and fully automated cold storage, gaining firsthand insight into the centre’s capabilities. Zhang Chunhua, Senior Executive of Yuhu Cold Chain Guangzhou, introduced the park’s construction and operational model, highlighting innovative approaches to cold chain food trading and future development plans, which provides valuable reference for potential business collaboration.

The subsequent training session featured two intensive thematic courses designed to deliver practical value: first, “New Trends and Practical Operations in International Agricultural Trade,” aimed at helping enterprises grasp industry dynamics and master operational skills; and second, an in-depth interpretation of “Policies, Procedures, and Standards for Supplying Agricultural Products to Hong Kong,” providing clear guidance for businesses seeking access to the Hong Kong market.

Holly Huang, Executive Director of Yuhu Group Hong Kong

Leveraging the extensive practical experience and insights into the latest industry trends, Holly Huang, Executive Director of Yuhu Group Hong Kong, delivered a comprehensive guide on international agricultural trade and supply-to-Hong Kong operations, equipping enterprises with cutting-edge knowledge and impactful strategies. During the session focusing on international trade practices, she analyzed the 2024–2025 export market landscape using detailed customs data, highlighting growth opportunities in emerging markets such as Southeast Asia, Japan, South Korea, and the European Union. She emphasized the need for companies to build three core competitive advantages: branding, compliance, and storytelling, noting that the era of competing solely on price has ended. To avoid the pitfalls of “having products without brands or registrations without orders,” businesses must deeply understand the cultural preferences and regulatory requirements of their target markets. In the segment dedicated to Hong Kong supply operations, she provided a detailed walkthrough of the end-to-end export process, covering critical steps including enterprise registration, inspection, and quarantine procedures. Given Hong Kong's stringent food safety standards, she highlighted the “HKQAA Hong Kong Registration – Food Supply to Hong Kong Scheme”, launched by Yuhu Cold Chain in collaboration with the Hong Kong Quality Assurance Agency (HKQAA) in May this year, as a practical and implementable solution for enterprises. She further emphasized that Yuhu Cold Chain serves not only as a professional logistics provider but also as a “partner-style enabler” for companies expanding globally. Introducing its innovative multi-service model, she explained how the online “Jade Premium” selection platform enables efficient and precise connections between global buyers and source manufacturers, while offline channels—such as global exhibition partnerships and pop-up store market testing in Hong Kong, helping enterprises validate demand with minimal investment. This online-offline integrated strategy allows businesses to access global orders seamlessly without large-scale upfront commitments.

Kaydon Zhuang, Business Manager of the International Cooperation Department at Yuhu Group Hong Kong, delivered a session focused on “Policies, Procedures, and Standards for Supplying Agricultural Products to Hong Kong.” She provided an in-depth yet accessible explanation of key processes and compliance requirements, using practical case studies to give enterprise representatives a clear understanding of market access conditions and operational procedures for the Hong Kong market. Her sharing offered actionable guidance for businesses seeking to expand into the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

“Aspiring to engage in Hong Kong supply business has long been our goal, but our limited understanding of the processes and standards made us hesitant to take the leap. The training and certification program provided by Yuhu Cold Chain has given us the confidence we needed,” shared a representative from an agricultural enterprise in attendance. With this “quality permit,” the company plans to commence preparations next month for its first batch of agricultural products destined for Hong Kong.

In addition to theoretical knowledge, the training featured dedicated sessions for enterprise presentations and interactive exchanges. Representatives from Guangzhou Kwangfeng Industrial Co., Ltd. and the Guangzhou Nansha Prepared Dish Industry Association shared valuable insights from their experiences in agricultural product import-export and industrial development, offering success stories for other enterprises to reference. During the interactive session, participants actively posed questions and engaged in in-depth discussions with expert speakers regarding challenges encountered in their business expansion efforts. The lively atmosphere fostered productive dialogue throughout the event. The training received highly positive feedback, with 28 participating enterprises expressing preliminary intentions to collaborate with Yuhu Cold Chain through this platform and seeking further engagement opportunities.

Fully Serving the Dual-Circulation Strategy as a Government Partner

Yuhu Cold Chain's initiatives to facilitate agricultural exports in collaboration with governments have been expanding both broadly and deeply across China. Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of Jiangxi Province has consistently regarded Yuhu Cold Chain as a key strategic partner in accessing the Greater Bay Area market. The two parties have engaged in in-depth cooperation around agricultural production-marketing alignment and international expansion, with multiple product promotion and sourcing matchmaking events already held at Yuhu Cold Chain’s parks. Leveraging Yuhu’s platform and resource strengths, Jiangxi’s high-quality agricultural products are being effectively connected to markets in the Greater Bay Area and the globe.

On August 28–29, the Jiangxi Agricultural International Trade Training and Overseas Investment Promotion Event, hosted by Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of Jiangxi Province, was successfully held in Nanfeng County, Fuzhou City. Experts from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs’ Agricultural Trade Promotion Centre and the Foreign Economic Cooperation Office, along with officials from the Jiangxi Provincial Foreign Affairs Office and Nanchang Customs, gathered to deliver specialized sessions on key topics including trends in agricultural international trade, strategies for overseas agricultural investment, considerations for enterprises expanding abroad, and inspection, quarantine, and customs clearance procedures for agricultural products. These insights provided valuable guidance for Jiangxi agricultural enterprises going global.

Li Junyan, Director and Senior Vice President of Yuhu Cold Chain

Li Junyan, Director and Senior Vice President of Yuhu Cold Chain, was invited to attend the event, where she presented the collaborative initiative “HKQAA Hong Kong Registration – Food Supply for Hong Kong Scheme” and elaborated on Yuhu Group’s export service solutions. She emphasized that as a representative enterprise of new quality productive forces in China’s cold chain infrastructure and an innovative supply chain leader, Yuhu Cold Chain has established an integrated online-offline trading platform and fulfillment system. In recent years, it has engaged in extensive, comprehensive, and in-depth collaborations with high-quality agricultural enterprises in Jiangxi. Moving forward, Yuhu Cold Chain will fully leverage its strategic presence in Hong Kong to further support agricultural export enterprises, offering professional cross-border supply chain solutions. By closely aligning with the dual-circulation development strategy, Yuhu aims to assist Jiangxi’s premium agricultural products in actively participating in international competition and expanding into global markets.

From August 14 to 16, the 35th Food Expo, organized by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), was held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. The Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of Guangdong Province led a delegation of enterprises to participate in the exhibition and specially invited Yuhu Cold Chain to take part. Holly Huang was invited to speak at the event, sharing Yuhu Group’s extensive experience and solutions in food supply chains, cold chain logistics, and international trade services. Her presentation aimed to provide comprehensive support for high-quality ingredients from Guangdong to expand into the Hong Kong market.

Create Opportunities for High-Quality Agricultural Circulation

From the Greater Bay Area to Jiangxi, from deepening supply operations to Hong Kong to expanding into global markets, Yuhu Cold Chain is consistently supporting government initiatives with professional services and steadfast commitment. Centreed on the core objective of “high-quality agricultural circulation,” Yuhu continues to bridge the gaps for agricultural exports, strengthening its role as a critical link between domestic agricultural production and global consumer markets.

Looking ahead, Yuhu Cold Chain will further collaborate with authoritative institutions such as HKQAA to help more Chinese agricultural products gain broad recognition in international markets. At the same time, the company will deepen its synergistic partnerships with local governments to replicate and promote mature global expansion service models across China. These efforts are designed to assist agricultural enterprises in achieving “asset-light, risk-low” global expansion, facilitating the transition of Chinese agricultural exports from “product exports” to “branded exports.” By doing so, Yuhu aims to enhance the presence of Chinese agricultural products on the global stage and inject sustained new momentum into high-quality agricultural development.

Appendix:
The “HKQAA Hong Kong Registration – Food Supply for Hong Kong Scheme”, launched by the Hong Kong Quality Assurance Agency (HKQAA), aims to assist producers in demonstrating key credentials such as corporate qualifications and product testing reports through a standardized registration mechanism, thereby enhancing consumer trust. This initiative not only provides participating enterprises with a “Quality Permit” to access the Hong Kong market by reducing compliance barriers and accelerating time-to-market but also significantly enhances the international competitiveness of their products by aligning with stringent traceability systems and global standards. Additionally, Hong Kong consumers can quickly access detailed factory information by scanning the Hong Kong Registration QR code on product labels, reinforcing confidence in the origin and quality of food ingredients and promoting the availability of high-quality food products in the Hong Kong market.
