Serving the Yangtze River Delta, Nanjing’s New Flagship Cold Chain Facility
The Yuhu Cold Chain (Nanjing) Trading Centre is positioned as a full-chain service hub for cold chain foods and a urban supply safeguard base radiating across the Yangtze River Delta. The first phase of the project involves an investment of RMB 3 billion, utilizing a site of approximately 13.9 hectares with a construction area of about 300,000 square meters and a storage capacity of 218,000 tons. Since its signing in February this year, the project has efficiently completed key milestones including signing, land acquisition, and groundbreaking within just eight months. It plans to develop four functional zones: international cold chain food trading, cold storage, integrated processing, and supporting services. This initiative represents a strategic step for Yuhu Cold Chain in deepening its presence in the East China market and continuously improving its nationwide physical fulfillment network. It will also fully leverage Nanjing’s geographical advantage of “connecting the east and west, linking the north and south” to strengthen the city’s role as a regional logistics hub. By enhancing modern, intelligent cold chain infrastructure, integrating upstream and downstream resources, and driving industrial upgrading, the project will inject new momentum into Nanjing's goal of building a national-level logistics hub and achieving high-quality regional economic development.

The commencement of the Yuhu Cold Chain (Nanjing) Trading Centre will enhance the efficiency and quality assurance of cold chain food distribution in Nanjing, providing crucial support for Jiangsu’s development of a “comprehensive and highly coordinated cold chain industry ecosystem.” This initiative promotes an integrated development model combining logistics, industry, and urban growth, aligning with Nanjing’s policy vision of “forging new momentum and expanding new space.” It will help consolidate Nanjing’s position as a core city in the metropolitan area and strengthen its radiating influence across the Yangtze River Delta and central-western regions. Looking ahead, the project will further enhance regional cold chain resource coordination and supply chain resilience, driving regional consumption upgrades, employment growth, and tax revenue increase. By continuously improving the efficiency and quality of cold chain food distribution in Nanjing and advancing the upgrade of international food trade, it will provide sustained key support for building Jiangsu’s cold chain industry ecosystem.
