On October 24, Chen Ping, Vice Governor of the Shandong Provincial Government, led a delegation to the headquarters of Yuhu Group in Hong Kong for a meeting with Huang Xiangmo, Chairman of the Board of Yuhu Group. The two sides held in-depth discussions on accelerating the implementation of Yuhu Cold Chain projects, promoting the domestic and international sales of Shandong’s agricultural products, and enhancing the high-quality development of Shandong’s cold chain industry.

Huang Xiangmo extended a warm welcome to Chen Ping and his delegation, highlighting the comprehensive service advantages of Yuhu Cold Chain and its innovative Online-Merge-Offline (OMO) business model. Since the implementation of the Yuhu Cold Chain strategy in 2020, Yuhu Group has consistently identified Shandong as a key investment region. Future collaboration between the two parties will focus on two main directions: first, leveraging Yuhu Cold Chain’s nationwide network of trading centres to showcase, promote, and sell Shandong’s agricultural products in more regions across the country, thereby supporting the development of Shandong’s agricultural industry and attracting frozen food trading resources from surrounding areas to gradually converge in Shandong. Second, utilizing Yuhu Cold Chain’s full-chain services and technological capabilities to enhance the digitalization level of frozen food trading, align with international food cold chain logistics standards, address the long-standing industry challenge of lacking unified trading and circulation standards in the domestic frozen food sector, improve the export competitiveness of Shandong’s agricultural products, and integrate into the global food supply chain.

Chen Ping expressed affirmation for Yuhu Cold Chain’s innovative model, stating, “Yuhu Group has taken a leading position nationwide in the new phase of agricultural industrialization and modernization, particularly excelling in cold chain logistics, market planning, business expansion, and the enhancement of new quality productive forces, setting an exemplary benchmark for the industry.” Chen Ping highlighted that Shandong Province is both a major economic and agricultural hub in China, with a total output value of 1.28 trillion yuan in agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry, and fishery. The annual export value of agricultural products reaches approximately 160 billion yuan, accounting for 22% of the national total and ranking first in the country. He emphasized, “We have full confidence in the collaboration with Yuhu Group and hope to use this visit as an opportunity to advance cooperation in three key areas: first, accelerating the establishment of Yuhu Cold Chain trading centre in Shandong to enhance the province’s cold chain logistics infrastructure; second, expanding the scope of collaboration by coordinating with the Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and 16 cities and counties to engage in comprehensive cooperation with Yuhu Cold Chain, integrating Shandong’s products into Yuhu Group’s global supply chain and setting a benchmark for national agricultural development; third, leveraging Yuhu Cold Chain’s role as an anchor enterprise in the global food supply chain to collaborate with Shandong’s leading agricultural companies in optimizing supply chains, enabling transactions, and providing value-added services such as supply chain finance.” He further expressed the expectation for increased mutual visits between both parties to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes and shared success.
