In June this year, the National Development and Reform Commission officially approved the “Nanjing Inland Port National Logistics Hub Construction Plan.” As a key component and critical support for this hub, the Yuhu Cold Chain (Nanjing) Trading Centre project has recently commenced construction. Notably, this marks the ninth national-level logistics hub certification earned by a Yuhu Cold Chain trading park, further highlighting the scientific planning and strategic value of Yuhu Cold Chain’s nationwide network of asset-heavy trading centres, as well as its vital role in empowering commerce and agricultural product circulation.

National logistics hubs are the core infrastructure of the logistics system—crucial nodes, major platforms, and backbone centres within the country’s logistics network. They play a vital role in aggregating and integrating various logistics resources, advancing regional economic development, and, most importantly, in reducing overall logistics costs for society. The Nanjing Inland Port National Logistics Hub is located within the Nanjing Economic and Technological Development Zone and the Nanjing Jiangning Economic and Technological Development Zone, both national-level zones. The hub will focus on five foundational functions: organizing trunk railway transportation, regional distribution and delivery, multimodal transfer, international logistics, and cold chain logistics. In addition, it will provide five extended functions: integrated supply chain services, trade and distribution, smart and green logistics, supply chain finance, and emergency supply assurance.
The Yuhu Cold Chain (Nanjing) Trading Centre is the ninth trading centre in Yuhu Cold Chain’s China network. It is positioned as a central hub for full-chain cold chain food services and as a city supply base serving the entire Yangtze River Delta. The centre will be built with four core functional zones: international cold chain food trading, cold chain warehousing, integrated processing, and supporting services, forming a comprehensive service system covering the entire cold chain food industry. The launch of the Nanjing centre represents a crucial step in Yuhu Cold Chain’s deepening of its East China presence and continued enhancement of its nationwide fulfillment network. Leveraging Nanjing’s unique geographical advantage—linking east and west, connecting north and south—the project will further strengthen Nanjing’s role as a logistics hub. For both the city of Nanjing and the Yangtze River Delta region, the Yuhu Cold Chain Nanjing Trading Centre will help improve modern, intelligent cold chain infrastructure, accelerate integration of upstream and downstream industry resources, drive the upgrading of the cold chain industry, and inject strong momentum into the region’s high-quality economic development.
In fact, Yuhu Cold Chain’s national-level deployment has already demonstrated significant strategic value for China’s cold chain infrastructure and the construction of agricultural product circulation networks. Its projects have been included in a total of nine national-level hub certifications, such as “National Backbone Cold Chain Logistics Base,” “National Logistics Hub,” and “Key Backbone Cold Chain Logistics Base for Agricultural Products.” In addition to the Nanjing park’s latest inclusion as an “Inland Port National Logistics Hub,” the Guangzhou and Changsha parks have been recognized as “Airport-based National Logistics Hubs,” the Wuhan park as a “Commerce and Trade Service National Logistics Hub,” the Guangzhou and Chengdu parks as “National Backbone Cold Chain Logistics Bases,” and the Guangzhou, Chengdu, and Wuhan parks as “Backbone Cold Chain Logistics Bases for Agricultural Products.”
Looking ahead, Yuhu Cold Chain will continue to improve its nationwide fulfillment network, deepen its integrated OMO trading service model, support the construction of a unified national market, and make continued contributions to the development of new productive forces in the industry.
