Recently, a joint government-business delegation from seven Central and Eastern European (CEE) countries—including Slovenia, Romania, Croatia, Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, and Serbia—visited the Yuhu Cold Chain (Chengdu) Trading Centre. As a key part of the Belt and Road Initiative’s China (Chengdu)-CEE Countries Business Dialogue, this visit aimed to deepen international cooperation in cold chain food trade and supply chain innovation.

Zhong Zheng, Deputy General Manager of Yuhu Cold Chain (Chengdu) Co., Ltd., gave a detailed introduction to the current operation model and future development plan of the Chengdu Trading Centre. He noted that Yuhu Cold Chain Chengdu Trading Centre officially commenced operations in November 2024. By relying on Yuhu Cold Chain, the trading centre has built an Online-Merge-Offline (OMO) model, and developed an end-to-end solution covering segments such as cross-border procurement on behalf of clients, intelligent warehousing, and supply chain finance. To date, it has attracted over 600 high-quality leading enterprises in the industry to settle in the trading centre. Notably, located in the core area of Chengdu International Railway Port, the trading centre enjoys three major hub advantages: as the departure station of the China-Europe Railway Express (Chengdu-Europe Railway Express), it serves as a railway artery connecting the Eurasian continent; adjacent to Asia’s largest railway container central station, it links western China’s largest railway hub with an extensive highway network, forming a core node for multimodal transportation.
After gaining an in-depth understanding of the trading centre’s digital and intelligent services as well as its achievements in integration and innovation across the entire industrial chain, the delegation expressed high recognition. They also stated that both parties could explore cooperation in cold chain food trade and supply chain fields in the future. Miroslav Gregorič, Chairman of the Slovenia-China Friendship Group of the Slovenian Parliament, explicitly pointed out that Yuhu Cold Chain’s "new-quality productive forces" model—which deeply integrates logistics, finance, and digital technology—serves as an ideal fulcrum for CEE cold chain food to enter the Chinese market, providing an efficient solution for bilateral trade cooperation.
Looking ahead, Yuhu Cold Chain Chengdu Trading Centre will fully leverage its hub functions, focus on connecting with high-quality cold chain food suppliers from CEE countries, and build an efficient trade channel based on the cold chain special trains of the Chengdu-Europe Railway Express. It will scale up the introduction of characteristic products such as Polish poultry meat and Hungarian foie gras into the Chinese market, further expand cooperation between the two sides in cold chain logistics, cross-border trade, and other fields, and contribute to upgrading the quality and efficiency of the Belt and Road cold chain trade network.
