On 19 March, a delegation composed of senior executives from multiple German "Hidden Champion" enterprises visited the Yuhu Cold Chain (Chengdu) Trading Centre for inspection and exchange discussions. The visit took place amid the continuous deepening of China-Germany economic and trade ties and increasingly frequent interactions between Chengdu and German industrial and business communities. As a critical cold chain hub linking Europe and the western China market, Yuhu Cold Chain has once again drawn significant attention from the global industrial sector.

The delegation toured the trading centre in depth, making an on-site visit to its high-standard automated cold storage, where they received a detailed briefing on the smart warehouse management system and logistics transportation platform. Jiang Wensheng, Director of Yuhu Group Hong Kong and Chairman of Yuhu Cold Chain Sichuan Company, provided the German guests with a comprehensive overview of Yuhu Cold Chain’s global footprint, business model, as well as the strategic positioning and core functions of the Chengdu project as a key hub of the National Backbone Cold Chain Logistics Base. In particular, he elaborated on how Yuhu Cold Chain, leveraging the channel advantages of Chengdu International Railway Port, has built a stable, reliable cold chain food supply chain network connecting Europe and the western China market through efficient logistics solutions including the China Railway Express (CR Express).
In an interview with reporters from China Global Television Network (CGTN) accompanying the delegation, Jiang Wensheng highlighted Yuhu Cold Chain’s international initiatives, including the establishment of an overseas supplier alliance, the dispatch of experts to participate in the formulation of international cold chain standards, and active efforts to facilitate the domestic distribution and global export of products from Chengdu and Sichuan.
The German delegates expressed keen interest in Yuhu Cold Chain’s world-class hardware facilities, digital operation and management system, and its nationwide network coverage across the Chinese market. The two sides held in-depth exchanges on a range of topics, including the feasibility of premium European food products (notably meat, dairy products and beer) entering the Chinese market via the Yuhu platform, supply chain collaboration models, and the alignment of quality standards. Delegation members noted that the enormous potential of the Chinese market and its ongoing consumption upgrade trend are remarkable, and the end-to-end full-chain service platform built by Yuhu Cold Chain offers a highly attractive solution for premium German products to reach Chinese consumers efficiently and safely.
This visit marks a pivotal on-site inspection by the German industrial and business community of Chengdu – especially the Qingbaijiang International Railway Port and its cold chain logistics industry. It follows the successful investment promotion event held by Chengdu in Germany last year, as well as the recent visit to China by the German Chancellor, which further boosted bilateral economic and trade relations. On 19 March, Cao Lijun, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee and Secretary of the CPC Chengdu Municipal Committee, met with guests from the Association of German Chambers of Industry and Commerce (DIHK) and the German "Hidden Champion" enterprises on their Chengdu industrial visit. He expressed his hope that all parties would take this visit as an opportunity to fully explore cooperation opportunities, continue to make investment and layout in Chengdu, deepen their presence in the western China market, and encourage more German enterprises to seize development opportunities during China’s 15th Five-Year Plan period (2026-2030), achieving mutual benefit and win-win results through deepened cooperation.
Wang Xianghui, Deputy Mayor of Qingbaijiang District, who accompanied the German enterprises during their visit to Yuhu Cold Chain, stated that as the home of Chengdu International Railway Port, Qingbaijiang District is making every effort to build a world-class land port hub and attaches great importance to economic and trade cooperation with Germany. He welcomed more market-oriented platform enterprises like Yuhu Cold Chain to play a bridging role, attracting more outstanding German enterprises (including "Hidden Champions") and high-quality products to gather in Qingbaijiang.
